The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, has urged prospective applicants to personally complete their university admission forms to avoid errors that could affect their chances of entry.

Speaking during an outreach programme at Bosomtwe Girls' STEM Senior High School, Mr. Thomas Baakyiirsie, Junior Assistant Registrar at the KNUST Admissions Office, cautioned students against common mistakes such as incorrect index numbers, misspelt names, and selecting programmes unrelated to their academic background.
Mr. Baakyiirsie delivered a presentation on the university’s admission process, outlining entry requirements and emphasising the importance of selecting the appropriate WASSCE subject combinations. He also shared the current cut-off points for undergraduate programmes.
He reiterated KNUST’s commitment to inclusive education and female empowerment, encouraging students to take advantage of the university’s initiatives aimed at bridging the gender gap in science and technology disciplines.
The Headmistress of Bosomtwe Girls' STEM Senior High School, Ms. Lydia Osei-Wusu expressed gratitude to the KNUST admissions team for dedicating time to guide the students through the university’s admission process.
She revealed that the session had not only clarified key requirements but also inspired many of the girls to aim for higher academic goals.
